Getac Now Offering 5-Year Warranty on all Fully Rugged Models

Getac, a leading innovator and manufacturer of rugged computers has announced that it will offer a new 5-year warranty on its complete line of fully rugged notebook computers and rugged tablets. This new bumper-to-bumper warranty represents the best warranty in the industry at no additional cost to Getac customers. The new warranty covers all fully rugged systems delivered on or after January 1, 2010.

This new warranty is an impressive accomplishment when considering the extreme environments and applications in which Getac's products are typically used. By adding the 5-year warranty, including accidental damage, Getac users and corporate purchasing departments will be able to extend the life-cycle of these rugged computing products in the field and amortize the cost over longer periods without additional service fees beyond the typical 3-year warrantees. The models that now include this standard 5-Year Warranty are the Getac B300 Rugged Laptop, Getac A790 Rugged Laptop, and Getac M230N Rugged Laptop. M230 vs M230N

Getac's fully rugged M230N is the replacement of the M230. The differences between these models are:

Processor
NVidia
Hard Drive
Optical Drive
EVDO
Touchpad

The M230N model comes with Core 2 Duo processor technology as opposed to the Core Duo processor of the old M230 model. There is still a touchscreen option available, but it is only for the 14" screen. Also an option for the 14" screen models is an upgrade to discrete video with Nvidia 256MB chip. The M230 model came standard with an 80GB hard drive. The M230N comes standard with a 120GB hard drive. Optional upgrades for the hard drive are a 160 or 250GB, or a spare 120GB hard drive w/ a canister. A DVD-Super Multi drive comes with the M230N. There is a choice between HSDPA or EVDO (Sprint) wireless communications for the M230N. Lastly, with the M230N there is an optional pressure sensing glove touchpad available.
